And of course, an icebox for the drinks and catches. You and your guide will be chasing Largemouth Bass, Black Drum, Flounder,&nbsp;Redfish, Blacktip Shark, Bonnethead Shark, Sheepshead, Sea Trout, and Tripletail. To reel in your catch, you can use light tackle trolling, heavy tackle trolling, bottomfishing, spinning, jigging, and popping. You can choose if you’ll keep or release your catch. Meet Captain Derrick Bray, an experienced Charleston fishing charter operator and the owner of&nbsp;Blue Light Charters. He admits to being in love with fishing from a young age, but his time serving in the United States Air Force left him with little time to pursue his passion. That all changed once he retired and opened Blue Light Charters, a Charleston-based fishing chartering service.&nbsp; Growing up, he feels that he was lucky enough to have a grandmother who loved to take him fishing in the Everglades. They would spend days on end exploring the mangroves and backwaters, trying different techniques, hunting for fish, and enjoying what nature offered us. It was an experience that shaped his love for fishing from a young age and has remained strong ever since. From then, he developed a passion for saltwater and freshwater fishing, exploring new beaches and rivers each time. Besides being an enjoyable activity with friends or when alone, teaching those around him about this skill was especially meaningful for him. Seeing younger generations understand and appreciate what it means to be out by the water brought so much satisfaction to someone like him who has fallen in love with this sport. He basically started out with two dreams: owning and operating a restaurant, and becoming a charter captain. The concept was ambitious but he was not the type to back down from a challenge so he went for it.&nbsp; Starting his own business was always something that he wanted to do and he knew it would take hard work and dedication to make it happen. After much hard work - both mental and physical - these ambitions seemed like they might become attainable. Fulfilling a lifetime dream of being able to make a living doing something that he is very passionate about was immensely satisfying. He takes pride at Blue Light Charters in helping his customers experience some of the best recreational fishing in the Lowcountry, providing them with memories they'll never forget and that's what drives him each and every day.
